Enhancing the Graduate Student Experience

Graduate Student Association

Welcome message from the 2017/18 president, Luke Shaver

Welcome! We’re glad you are here. Whether you’re looking for an opportunity to grow in intellectual and spiritual community, grab the world’s best pancakes or free coffee in our collegium, fund your ideas to supplement TWU curricular activity with conferences, seminars, or trainings, or anything of the like, we hope our website will assist you in that process.

As you explore these pages, may you gain a greater understanding of the vision and values of The Grad Student Association – to promote a mature and active commitment to Jesus Christ among Trinity Western graduate students through encouraging and resourcing intellectual dialogue, spiritual enrichment, and social gathering of its body! We hope you can easily find what you are looking for. If there are any ways we can be of service along the way, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Our Services

Student groups wishing to be officially recognized by TWUGSA are required to submit an application form to any member of the council. The TWUGSA wants to support you in your intellectual and spiritual growth while you study at TWU SGS/ACTS.

Free Pancake breakfast

FREE regular and gluten-free Pancakes with all the stuff you've come to love on top! Every Second Wednesday, from 8:30am to 11:10am at the grad collegium. Come out and find ways that the GSA can assist your academic experience. We also do [at least] 3 gift card giveaways at each breakfast!

Strategic sponsorships

The GSA Council sponsors various events and approves funding for activities within the university. In the 2017-2018 academic year, we funded the Learning Commons & Writing Centre in the amount of $1,500 as well as the first place prize for the 3-minute-thesis competition in the amount of $500.

Free Grad collegium coffee

Through the GSA's partnership with the Graduate Collegium Honor Bar, students get 1 complimentary cup of coffee a day. The spirit of this offer is to encourage students to develop friendships with others in the Collegium.
(Refills are at the normal price as posted)

The TWUGSA will actively defend and represent the needs and requests of the graduate student body through consultation and communication with all affected stakeholders to serve the graduate student body and further its interests.

Hosted Events

In addition to our monthly pancake breakfast, the GSA hosts the annual christmas banquet for grad students, and faculty as well as their friends and family. Tickets sell out quickly, so plan ahead and reserve your spot.

We exist to serve the graduate student body by providing representation on a global scale through personal involvement with TWU’s administrative committees.
